An introduction to the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and military service in general. Over four years, in addition to an overview of USCG history, missions, organization, shipboard and shore station operations, and traditions from inception to the present, students engage in in-depth study of boating safety, navigational techniques, search and rescue operations, ship-handling theory, and leadership skills.
